Semi crash forces officials to close portion of Interstate 65 in White County

WHITE COUNTY, Ind. — A crash forced officials to temporarily close a portion of Interstate 65 in White County Sunday night.

According to a notification from the Indiana Department of Transportation, the crash occurred on I-65 southbound at mile marker 195 near Remington. INDOT also reported that the crash involved a semi.

INDOT sent its notification about the crash around 9:47 p.m. The agency also reported that at least one person was injured in the crash.

INDOT has yet to report the exact number of people injured in the crash. INDOT’s notification does not specify how many vehicles, if any, were involved in the crash in addition to the semi.

At 10:25 p.m., INDOT announced that the left lane of I-65 southbound had reopened. The agency has yet to provide an estimate on when the roadway will fully reopen.

Indiana State Police are investigating the crash. ISP has not yet provided any information on the crash.
