In a post on X, the Austin Fire Department said crews arrived at the restaurant, located at 1421 S Congress Ave., around 7:20 p.m. and found a fire near the pizza oven, where heat had built up in a concealed area around the exhaust system.
Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported, and crews remained on site to ensure the area was safe before clearing the scene.
“Fire was located in a void space surrounding a pizza oven exhaust vent hood; fire was contained to the void space. Fire has been extinguished and no reported injuries. All employees and patrons self-evacuated. Fire crews have cleared the scene. Traffic flow has returned to normal,” said the AFD shift commander.
