Disneyland to revamp Soarin’ attraction ahead of America’s 250th anniversary

Disneyland guests will soon be able to soar from sea to shining sea as the park updates its fan-favorite Soarin’ attraction in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

The new experience, Soarin’ Across America, will highlight the nation’s natural wonders and iconic cityscapes through sweeping aerial views, the park announced Monday.

Described as a tribute to America’s past, present and future, Soarin’ Across America is set to debut at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort in summer 2026.

Soarin’, located in Disney California Adventure, lifts guests high into the air in front of an immersive 80-foot projection dome for a virtual tour that simulates the motion of flight.

Disney included actor and film producer Patrick Warburton in Monday’s announcement. In the attraction, Warburton plays the chief flight attendant who delivers safety tips to passengers in the queue.

Disney has not revealed which U.S. cities will be featured, but Tom Fitzgerald, chief storytelling executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, said the goal is to “offer guests a sampling of the diversity of America’s beauty and urban wonders.”

The attraction update is a part of the company’s “Disney Celebrating America” celebration, which kicks off on Veterans Day and concludes on July 4, 2026.

The celebration will culminate over the July 4 weekend with a 24-hour, multi-platform broadcast titled “Disney Celebrates America.”

The special will highlight events marking the nation’s 250th anniversary across Disney’s television networks and streaming services, including Disney+, Hulu, ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX and National Geographic. It will conclude with an evening fireworks broadcast from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.

David Muir, anchor and managing editor of “World News Tonight with David Muir,” will lead the coverage, joined by ABC News anchors, correspondents, and others.
