Saturday saw stormy conditions pass through the Twin Lakes area bringing strong winds and showers across an area that hadn’t experience rainfall for nearly a month.

At KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service in Mountain Home, the rain gauge reported 0.58″ inches of precipitation having fallen on Saturday.

The last rainfall recorded was 0.63″ inches on September 25 which came at the tail end of a three day system crossing over the Twin Lakes that brought 3.14″ of precipitation. The next 23 days saw no precipitation being recorded at KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot.

The beginning of 2025 saw unusually strong showers, making the first six months the wettest on record. In July, showers began to taper off leaving conditions dryer than average for the summer leading into fall. As of now, October is set to fall as the eighth dryest on record, resting between 0.56″ in 2010 and 0.70″ in 1950 and 1963.

Currently, the National Weather Service forcasts lighter showers entering the area Thursday and following us into November.
