ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Top students from Rockford Public Schools were pampered and educated about career paths today, thanks to an event organized by Sisters for Change and Tricoci University.

The event, held for the first time, provided hair and nail services to the students while also offering insights into potential career opportunities in the beauty industry.

“When your hair looks good, you feel good,” said Michelle Faletti, a campus director involved in the event. “We really want to help boost these scholars, their self-esteem and really be proud of who they are.”

The initiative aims to support 20 new girls each month, offering them both personal grooming services and career education.

This program is designed to fill the students’ self-esteem and provide community service, as emphasized by the organizers.

With plans to continue the event monthly, Sisters for Change and Tricoci University hope to empower more students by enhancing their self-confidence and introducing them to new career paths.
