Startup program Tachyon.xyz supports early-stage web3 founders with funding and mentorship through TachyonX
The .xyz community includes programs and organizations that back early-stage founders and drive innovation in blockchain and digital technology. Builder-first investment firm Lightshift.xyz
Tachyon.xyz is the online home of Tachyon, a program that supports early-stage founders building at the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence. Since 2017, Tachyon has launched six programs and worked with dozens of alumni teams. Its TachyonX initiative is designed for very early-stage founders. After an application and short interview process, Consensys Mesh invests $150,000 in accepted companies. Consensys Mesh, also referred to as Mesh, plays a key role in advancing decentralized technologies through investment, incubation, research, and acceleration programs. Founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, Consensys Mesh exists within the broader Consensys ecosystem that helped launch Ethereum and develop MetaMask, one of the most widely used crypto wallets. TachyonX is not structured as a cohort-based accelerator. Instead, it provides funding, mentorship, and hands-on support tailored to each company.
The program is positioned within the broader web3 ecosystem, focusing on helping founders validate their ideas and begin initial growth. It emphasizes mentorship from the Consensys Mesh team and its extended network, as well as connections to technical partners like Linea, a zkEVM blockchain developed within the Consensys ecosystem. Alumni from past Tachyon programs include projects such as Coinshift.xyz, a treasury management platform for crypto organizations, and Joyn.xyz, a creative platform for digital communities. These examples illustrate the diversity of projects that have taken part in the program.
Tachyon is powered by Consensys Mesh, the investment and incubation organization found at Mesh.xyz. Founded in 2015, Consensys Mesh is guided by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin and built around four components: investment, incubation, research and development, and acceleration. Leadership includes Joseph and CEO Michael Kriak, a digital media and blockchain technology executive with extensive experience in finance and operations.
Making use of Tachyon.xyz establishes a clear online home for the program. The .xyz extension provides a concise and recognizable web address that aligns with the naming approach of many technology and blockchain projects. It also supports consistent branding across platforms, with Tachyon using matching handles such as @tachyonxyz on LinkedIn and @TachyonXYZ on X/Twitter. This consistency can help audiences more easily find and engage with the program online. You can learn more by following the program on LinkedIn @tachyonxyz and X/Twitter @TachyonXYZ, and by visiting Tachyon.xyz.
