FISHERS, Ind. — A masseuse in Hamilton County is behind bars after he was accused of raping a customer at a Fishers business

The investigation began on Monday when a woman told police she had been sexually assaulted at a business called Massage Finesse.

That led to a raid three days later that ended with one suspect arrested and the business being shut down.

The open sign is currently turned off, the front door locked and a notice tells people not to enter because the locks have been changed.

The business, located in a busy strip mall near 116th and Olio Road, closed after Fishers police say a female customer told them she was raped by a masseuse who went by the name “David.”

“When something like this happens, it’s a tragic event. It’s difficult for victims to deal with this, but the most important thing they can do is notify us so we can hold the person accountable,” said Fisher Police Major Mike Janes.

After investigating the woman’s claims, Fishers police arrested Xinjun Zhu for rape, sexual battery, crime confinement and resisting arrest.

During the search on Thursday, the suspect reportedly “disobeyed orders to stop and retreated toward the back (of the business), away from officers.”  Zhu was then arrested and taken into custody.

“Just because someone goes to a massage parlor is not a green light for the masseuse to do any kind of inappropriate touching,” said Hamilton County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Josh Kocher.

Prosecutors in Hamilton County expect to file formal charges next week. They say they take these kinds of allegations seriously.

“There is zero tolerance for sexual assault or inappropriate touching or violating someone’s personal space,” said Kocher.

“We will not tolerate this activity here in Fishers, and we’ll use all our resources to make sure it doesn’t happen again,” said Janes.

While serving a search warrant on Thursday, police found beds and a makeshift kitchen, which made them believe employees were living at the business.

Officials stated that a total of six people were detained and believed to be residing within the business. As a result, code enforcement ordered the business to be closed.

Fishers police were assisted by the FBI, solely for linguistic help because of a language barrier in the case.
