What to know ahead of Troup County vs. LaGrange High football game at Callaway Stadium

LAGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — Some big-time football games are happening across the Chattahoochee Valley, including the anticipated matchup between Troup County vs. LaGrange High School on Friday.

This year, the Troup Tigers will be visiting the LaGrange Grangers.

While the game is set to be played, Troup County School System officials shared some important guidelines ahead of the game.

In a video, Andrew Calhoun, the district athletic director for the Troup County School System, issued reminders on safety guidelines, while discussing what to expect at Friday’s game.

The guidelines include: only clear bags allowed inside the game, there are no facemasks or face coverings allowed, no loitering before or after the game, and no re-entry in or out of the game.

Officials also express that no student who has been suspended, assigned to Hope Academy or expelled is allowed to attend the event.

Everyone will be screened by a weapon detection system before entering the stadium, according to school officials.

Officials say elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult, and any Troup County School System high school student without their student ID must be accompanied by an adult.

There will also be no crossing over during the game, tailgating will not be permitted, and no one will be allowed onto the field after the game.

Parking is free except for the reserved lot on the home side of the stadium.

The Troup County School System will provide a shuttle service from the parking lot at the corner of Panther Way and Vernon Street to the stadium for those attending the game.

Officials say that the shuttles will run one hour before the game until 8:00 pm and one hour after the end of the game.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Callaway Stadium, which is located at 801 Dallis Street.
