Ventra services to be temporarily unavailable this weekend

CHICAGO (WGN) — Ventra says it will undergo scheduled upgrades this weekend, temporarily impacting overnight commuters.

Beginning 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, through 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, all Ventra services —including the Ventra Call Center, website, mobile app, retail loads, and ticket vending machines —will be temporarily unavailable.

Ventra says commuters will not be required to tap their Ventra cards or contactless devices at station turnstiles or while riding buses.

Rides will be free, and posted signs will remind riders of the outage, Ventra added.
