Two firefighters treated for heat injuries in Hoyt fire
According to the Hoyt Fire Department District #3, crews were called to the 12000 block of Q Road for reports of a structure fire involving an equipment building. Crews found a metal outbuilding that was fully engulfed in flames.
Fire crews started fighting the fire from inside the structure, but had to leave the building due to an impending roof collapse. The crews fought for several hours to make sure the fire was put out, according to the fire district.
The fire district said two firefighters were treated for heat-related injuries.
“With the help of our automatic and mutual aid partners, who quickly answered our requests for assistance, the fire was able to be contained to the structure of origin,” the Hoyt Rural Water District #3 wrote on Facebook.
