FOWLER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man is accused of killing a woman, said to be his mother, and her dogs at a Fowler home Wednesday night.

Officers say they responded to Citrus and South avenues around 6:30 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

The reporting party told officers she spoke with a family member who said he had shot his mom and was going to shoot her dogs and then himself.

On scene, officers received no answer at the door and were unable to make contact by phone. Due to reports of a gun, they sent in a drone, breaching windows with beanbag rounds.

Once it was deemed safe, police say they found an elderly woman and a middle-aged man dead. According to officers, there were also dead animals inside the house.

The Fowler Police Department is handing over the case to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
