CHP officers began investigating the crew on April 5, after investigators allegedly found social media videos of a street racer swerving through traffic at high speeds.
“Through the investigation, two vehicles were identified as being involved in numerous incidents across the Bay Area,” CHP said. “Investigators determined that a white Lexus sedan and a white BMW sedan were seen in multiple videos, some of which included identifying information that allowed investigators to locate the owners.”
Officers surveilled the driving crew and served search warrants at multiple locations in the Bay Area during last week’s arrests. CHP officers also seized an illegal gun and identified a third member of the driving crew who will also face charges, CHP said.
CHP Golden Gate Division Chief Don Goodbrand called the driving crew’s behavior careless.
“The California Highway Patrol is committed to holding those who organize, participate in, and promote this type of behavior responsible for the dangers they place the motoring public in,” Goodbrand said. “We will continue to aggressively pursue those who endanger our communities with their reckless and careless behavior, and ensure they answer for their crimes.”
