Lockdown lifted after bomb threat called in to Mercy Hospital in Fridley

A lockdown at Mercy Hospital has been lifted after a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., the Allina Health Call Center received a threat that a bomb had been placed on the Mercy Hospital Unity campus.

The campus was placed on lockdown as law enforcement responded to the scene.

Police and hospital security searched for a bomb and lifted the lockdown some time later. It is unclear what, if anything, was found and how long the hospital was locked down for.

If you have any information, please submit a tip at FridleyMN.gov/Tip411 or contact AnokaCounty Dispatch at 763-427-1212.
