According to ISP, around 5:29 p.m., a trooper was hurt when his car was struck by another vehicle while he was responding to a call.
The trooper was turning onto Keystone Avenue after exiting from I-465 westbound. He originally came to a stop at a traffic light with his lights and sirens on.
Once traffic yielded to the trooper, he started to pull through the intersection. That is when he was struck by a black 2025 Hyundai Tucson.
The driver of the Hyundai was headed northbound on Keystone Avenue when he noticed the traffic light turned yellow; the driver proceeded through the intersection to strike the driver’s side of the trooper’s vehicle.
Both the trooper and the driver of the Hyundai were transported to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash is still currently under investigation; drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
