Emery County Sheriff's Office arrest alleged serial burglar
EMERY COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A Castle Dale man has been arrested for allegedly committing several thefts.
According to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, the area of the Manti-La Sal National Forest has been subject to several thefts this year. An individual has finally been taken into custody.
Based on information from several victims, Emery County Sheriff’s Deputies issued a search warrant for the residence of Kolby Kiesel in Castle Dale, Utah.
In his residence, they found most of the stolen items, which, “have been returned to their rightful owners.” Kiesel was arrested on counts of theft, burglary, and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

Regarding the arrest, Emery County Sheriff Tyson Huntington said in an online post, “I would like to thank all the involved deputies from ECSO and agents from Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) for their perseverance and relentless pursuit to find justice for these theft victims. We are grateful to the victims for their cooperation in this case. Without the help from them, we would not have been able to be successful.”
Sheriff Huntington also stated that, while executing search warrants, law enforcement may come across items that could be stole or that seem out-of-place. However, when those items haven’t been reported as missing or stolen, law enforcement cannot seize them.
Due to this, they are asking that those who are missing something or believe it to be stolen make a report by calling or visiting the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Huntington said, “With your help, we might be able to return even more stolen property.”
