After already defeating the reigning district champion, DeKalb, 45-28 a few weeks ago, the last remaining undefeated district opponent other than the Tigers is Hooks.
The big win over DeKalb, followed by a dominant 82-14 victory over Queen City last week, Daingerfield is going into the matchup against Hooks confident.
“Taking care of DeKalb two weeks ago and then facing Hooks, it’s one of those things where the main focus from last week was trying not to look at Hooks then, like wait till we get to the week of Hooks to focus on Hooks,” head coach Davin Nelson said. “We took care of business last week and I think that they’ve been ready and chomping at the bit to get back to this one just because Dangerfield loves the atmosphere. They love the build up of the game. So, this being one that’s pretty easy to build up with what Hooks has been doing this last couple of weeks, I think it’s gonna be keeping them under control, not let them get too overly excited about it.”
“It’s very good momentum to boost the boost the guy’s confidence, just keep them up. If they go into the week with a good confidence level then, we’ll win again,” senior quarterback Isaiah Parker said.
Hooks hosts the matchup, with kickoff set for 7:30 pm on Friday, October 17.
