According to deputies, last night emergency crews arrived on scene to remove the truck from the canal and discovered Mason Hanks, 21, died at the scene.
The initial investigation suggested that Hanks allegedly turned from Clesmae Road onto a driveway where his vehicle apparently went off the road and flipped into the canal. For unknown reasons, Hanks was unable to exit the vehicle, deputies reported,
Further investigation determined that Mr. Hanks was last seen at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday and the Life360 app on his phone was last active at 10:26 pm on that same night, deputies said. It is believed that this incident may have occurred in the late evening hours of Tuesday.
