BELOIT, Wis. (WTVO) — A Beloit police officer has been honored for her heroic actions after saving a man from a submerged vehicle in the Rock River.

Officer Hannah Carlson was awarded ‘First Responder of the Year’ for the 45th District after she jumped into the river to rescue the man. The award was presented by Wisconsin State Representative Clinton Anderson.

Officer Carlson’s bravery was also recognized by the Beloit City Council last week, highlighting her dedication and service to the community.
