Belmont police detain burglary suspects after neighborhood search

(KRON) — Police in Belmont told residents of the Homeview neighborhood to stay inside Thursday morning as they searched for two burglary suspects. Both suspects were located and placed into custody by 6:18 a.m.

One suspect was taken into custody by 5:49 a.m., the Belmont Police Department said. The outstanding suspect at the time was described as a man in his 20s who was wearing blue pants and a sweatshirt. Shortly after, he was also found and detained.

Belmont authorities said they were assisting the Daly City Police Department in the search after the burglary suspects fled from officers on foot into the Homeview area.

At 5:31 a.m., law enforcement had initially urged residents of the area to remain inside and call 911 to report suspicious activity.
