According to police, the incident began around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday night as the victim, a 28-year-old man working as a tow truck driver, was attempting to tow a vehicle in the 7200 block of South Paulina Street.
Officers said that as the victim was attempting to tow the vehicle, a different dark colored car approached the scene. As the victim began to leave the scene, officers say the dark-colored vehicle then began to chase him.
Amid the pursuit, the victim then drove to the 1400 block of West 71st Street, where he was able to wave down officers.
While speaking with officers, the victim told police that during the alleged pursuit, a man inside the vehicle pointed a gun at him.
Officers located the vehicle involved in the alleged pursuit a short while later and three people, a 49-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman, who were all in the car, were taken into custody.
A firearm was also recovered on the scene.
It remains unclear what led up to the incident and authorities say charges against those arrested are currently pending.
