MCSO: Woman arrested, traffic stop reveals more than 100 grams of meth

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A routine traffic stop led to a drug bust after the Milam County Sheriff’s Office discovered “more than 100 grams of suspected methamphetamines.”

During the traffic stop, the Texas Department of Public Safety sent a request to the sheriff’s office for K9 assistance, according to a news release from MCSO.

On Oct. 10, around 11 a.m., MCSO Deputy Alex Infantino, along with K9 Deputy Lexus, responded to the traffic stop on U.S. 77, just north of Minerva.

MCSO said the driver, 45-year-old Katrina Latulip, “had an extensive drug-related criminal history.”

Latulip told officials she was headed to Rockdale from Cameron. She refused a vehicle search, according to MCSO.

K9 Lexus then performed “a free air sniff” around the vehicle and made an alert. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed more than 112 grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine, according to MCSO.

Latulip was arrested and taken to the Milam County Jail on charges of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1, 4-200 grams, the sheriff’s office said.

No other details were available Tuesday.
