‘Foundation for growth, innovation, and opportunity’: Lehi City completes citywide fiber network

LEHI, Utah (ABC4) — Lehi City has announced the completion of the Lehi Fiber Network, a citywide fiber-optic system built for fast, consistent connectivity.

Lehi City shared that the project, which began in 2022, is operated through a public–private partnership with Strata Networks, an independent telecommunications cooperative in the state of Utah.

According to the city, the system delivers internet speeds of up to 10-gigabit and reaches more than 23,000 homes and businesses across Lehi City. More than 400 miles of fiber have been installed.

“This project represents more than just faster internet it’s an investment in Lehi’s future,” said Lehi Mayor Mark Johnson. “By building and owning our own fiber network, we’re ensuring that every home and business has access to world-class connectivity that supports learning, innovation, and opportunity. The Lehi Fiber Network is already exceeding expectations, and I’m proud of how our community has embraced it.”

A press release from Lehi City states that the network serves approximately 5,890 subscribers.

“The Lehi project is one of the largest builds in our company’s history,” said Strata Networks Chief Executive Officer Bruce Todd. “It represents an incredible step forward for the Lehi community as we’ve laid the foundation for growth, innovation, and opportunity for years to come.”

The city reported that residents who joined that network have reported strong reliability, faster speeds, and better service options.

Bountiful Fiber

Lehi City is not the only city in the Beehive state that has a citywide fiber network. Bountiful City has Bountiful Fiber in partnership with UTOPIA Fiber.
