CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – A former assistant basketball coach at Clinton Christian Academy was sentenced for sex crimes involving a 14-year-old student-athlete under his supervision.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens announced that Willie Alexander, Jr., 50, pled guilty in September 2025 to sexual battery and two counts of exploitation of a minor. Alexander was sentenced to 30 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
On June 14, 2022, the victim’s mother reported to Clinton police that her son disclosed ongoing sexual abuse by Alexander. The student-athlete reported that the abuse had been ongoing for several months at Alexander’s Clinton home.
According to the student, Alexander forced him to participate in repeated sexual acts and attempted to normalize the conduct with gifts and promises. The student also reported traveling with Alexander out of state.
The student’s mother reported that after her son’s disclosure to her, Alexander unexpectedly appeared at her home. When confronted, investigators said Alexander admitted to teaching the boy how to put on a condom.
During a search of Alexander’s home, police discovered sex toys, several recording devices, cellphones, media storage devices, laptops, tablets, lubricants, and a hidden recording device that had been concealed inside a Glade battery-operated air freshener in a shared bathroom. A van at the residence also contained sex paraphernalia, including silicone devices and bottles of lubricant.
Alexander was later transported by detectives to the Clinton Police Department.
