The Kansas Supreme Court announced on Oct. 14 that Luckert would be missing the October Docket due to medical advice. She is to be replaced by Acting Chief Justice Eric Rosen.
Luckert said in a press release that she experienced a minor crash in her vehicle which her doctors believe was caused by a stroke.
“I was hospitalized Friday and over the weekend and will continue to be on medical leave at home,” Luckert said. “It does not appear that I will need speech or physical therapy, but I have been ordered to rest for at least the next few weeks.”
She will provide updates as they become available. Luckert will miss 15 cases in the upcoming October Docket.
