The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) received a criminal referral from the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) related to fraud allegations against Sue Ann Rivers, 53. The state alleges that Rivers concealed her income and marital status to receive Medicaid benefits.
From October 1, 2021, through March 31, 2024, Rivers presented false information to LDH on three medicaid applications. Her failure to accurately report marital status and household income led LDH to confirm her Medicaid eligibility during the time. This confirmation led to approximately $21,958.49 in losses.
Rivers was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on two counts of government benefits fraud and one count of attempted government benefits fraud. Her bond was set at $7500. and the investigation is ongoing.
