Man pleads guilty to armed robbery of Baton Rouge bank

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man accused of trying to rob a bank in May pleaded guilty on Tuesday.

According to federal court documents, Quarles Harris, 51, pleaded guilty to armed robbery, unauthorized use of a moving vehicle, and simple battery.

On May 8, Harris attempted to rob a Regions Bank on South Sherwood Forest Boulevard before a good Samaritan took Harris down.

Harris was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with a robbery at the same bank in April 2014.

A federal sentencing date has not been set.
