ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Winnebago County jury has convicted Shyron Henderson, 28, in the killing of Louis Coleman, 27, and Shawn Tatum, 28, in Sinnissippi Park in 2022.

A jury deliberated for less than 3 hours to return a verdict of guilty on two counts of First Degree Murder on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the park around 4:30 a.m. on July 23rd, 2022, where a shooting was reported during a “large gathering” after the park had closed.

Officers found Coleman and Tatum suffering from gunshot wounds. Coleman died at the scene. Tatum died later at the hospital.

Henderson, Jamie Pearson, Christopher Jackson, and Davon Lewis were identified as suspects and later arrested.

Court hearings for the other suspects are set for later this month and in November.
