IMPD: Man arrested after triple shooting at east side CVS Pharmacy

INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested after a triple shooting at a CVS Pharmacy on the east side of Indianapolis earlier this month.

According to previous reports, officers were called to a CVS Pharmacy location in the 4400 block of East 10th Street on the evening of Oct. 7 on a report of a man threatening employees. As officers were responding to the business, IMPD said that additional 911 calls reported that shots had been fired and people were injured.

When officers eventually arrived at the pharmacy, they located two women who had reportedly been shot during the incident. IMPD said that both women were in stable condition.

An investigation into the incident uncovered that a man, later identified as Rowe Jr., reportedly became “verbally aggressive” over an issue surrounding a prescription and “caused a large disturbance.”

Less than an hour later, officials said Rowe Jr. reportedly walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound, one that IMPD believes he got during the disturbance.

As the investigation into the shooting continued, IMPD officials said that detectives executed search warrants, collected multiple pieces of evidence and interviewed witnesses. On Monday, Rowe Jr. was taken into custody with assistance from IMPD’s violent crimes unit.

“Another senseless act of violence,” IMPD Lieutenant Vincent Stewart said during a media briefing on the shooting. “Any time someone is shot and or killed in our city, obviously, it affects all of us. As we continue to talk about conflict resolution, getting along, things of that nature, we impress upon the public to do that.”

IMPD officials said the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision in relation to this case.
