I-57 SB lanes reopen on South Side after fatal car-on-pedestrian crash early Sunday morning, according to ISP
CHICAGO — The southbound lanes of I-57 have reopened after being closed near West 111th Street on the city’s South Side early Sunday morning after a person was killed in a car-on-pedestrian crash.

According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to the crash at milepost 355 on I-57 around 4:45 a.m. Sunday. ISP says it was a fatal crash involving a car and a pedestrian, but no further details were available.

Traffic was being diverted off southbound I-57 at W. 111th St. All lanes reopened just before 11 a.m. Sunday, ISP says.
