(KRON) — A small community in Marin County is getting its post office back. After being closed for nearly three years, the United States Postal Service (USPS) office in Bolinas has reopened after more than two-and-a-half years.

The post office, located at 20 Brighton Ave., opened on Sept. 29, the federal government agency announced. USPS shut down the Bolinas location in February of 2023 after “a previous loss of lease forced relocation to the Stinson Beach Post Office.”

The Bolinas office is open for retail on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with mail pickup ending one hour later at 5 p.m. Saturday pick-up hours are from 10 a.m. to noon.

“The Postal Service is proud to reopen a refreshed and brighter Post Office in the community of Bolinas. We are eager to deliver consistent and convenient service just in time for the holiday season,” USPS District Manager Aron Jones said in a news release.

Some neighbors are so excited about the return of their post office, they are singing about it. Watch residents celebrating through song here.
