State Patrol: Alcohol not a factor in fatal Wood Lake firetruck crash
The driver in a fatal Yellow Medicine County firetruck accident was not impaired at the time of the crash, State Patrol officials say.
An incident report from the State Patrol says alcohol was not involved in the crash, although all three occupants were unbelted.
According to court records, around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 26, a Wood Lake firetruck was heading northbound on 490th Street, just north of Cottonwood, when it veered into the east shoulder and hit a mailbox.
The firetruck overcorrected and rolled several times before landing in the westbound ditch.
