CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that took place over the weekend in Christian County.

According to Kentucky State Police, officers were alerted about a crash at the intersection of KY-117 and US-41 in Oak Grove shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12.

Officials said a preliminary investigation indicates that a 53-year-old man from Hopkinsville was traveling in a pickup truck and disregarded a “traffic control device,” which led him to hit another vehicle.

The passenger in the other vehicle—identified as 55-year-old Tony Kilsby of Clarksville—was reportedly flown to a nearby hospital after the crash, but later died from his injuries.

KSP added that the other people involved in the crash, including the 53-year-old Hopkinsville man and the 26-year-old driver of the other vehicle, did not sustain any “serious physical injuries.”

There have been no criminal charges filed at this time, according to authorities. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing and is being led by a KSP detective.

No additional information was immediately released.
