KAYSVILLE, Utah (
ABC4) — A high school in Kaysville was put into “HOLD” status after a bullet was located on the locker room floor this morning.
According to a press release from the Kaysville Police Department, Davis High School contacted the police on Monday morning to report that a “single 9mm bullet” was found on the floor of the locker room.
School resource officers responded and began investigating how the bullet ended up there. The police department says they reviewed security footage, interviewed individuals, and thoroughly searched the building.
No weapons or any additional bullets were located, the press release states.
Davis High School was placed under a “HOLD” protocol after the bullet was located. During this type of protocol, students are required to remain in their classrooms while staff secure and lock doors and ensure all students are accounted for.
When the HOLD was lifted, classes resumed as normal. No students or staff were in immediate danger, the police department clarified.
“This remains an active investigation. We encourage everyone to continue following the ‘See Something, Say Something’ principle to help keep our schools and community safe,” the Kaysville Police Department concludes in the press release.
