Boy, 13, wounded in drive-by shooting on South Side

CHICAGO — A 13-year-old boy was wounded in a drive-by shooting near a gas station on the city’s South Side.

The shooting happened around 9:20 p.m. Sunday on the 800 block of West 59th Street in the Englewood neighborhood.

According to police, the boy was walking near a gas station when a gray SUV with four occupants pulled alongside him, and someone inside began firing gunshots at the victim.

The offenders then fled the scene.

The boy sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg, and a gunshot graze wound to the right leg. He was transported to St. Bernard Hospital by a relative where he is listed in good condition.

No one in custody and Area One Detectives are investigating.
