The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. on October 8, when deputies patrolling Southwest Tualatin Valley Highway near Southeast 48th Avenue in Hillsboro witnessed a driver in a 2019 Dodge Journey commit a “traffic violation,” then fled from authorities.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver headed towards neighborhoods near SW 170th Avenue and SW Ivy Glenn St., where a caller reported the abandoned Dodge in the street.
WCSO created a containment area and requested assistance from a K9 and a drone, officials said.
The Sheriff’s Office said they found all four juvenile occupants of the Dodge, with two found on a side street while the other two were hiding in bushes outside of a home.
The Dodge, which was reported stolen from Forest Grove, was returned to its registered owner, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
