REDWEST Country Music Festival Day 2 cut short due to severe weather conditions

UPDATE 9:45p.m.: REDWEST announced the remainder of the festival’s second day will not continue, via an Instagram post:

“For the safety of our fans, artists, and staff, we are unable to continue with today’s programming. Conditions at the festival site are currently unsafe to proceed.

UPDATE: REDWEST posted the following update to their Instagram just after 6:15p.m. Saturday:

Thank you for your patience with evacuations. We are working closely with meteorologists to keep all of our attendees safe. We’re expecting lightning in the area. We plan to be back up as soon as safely possible. Stand by for an adjusted schedule soon. Next update will be at approximately 7.30pm. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — REDWEST Country Music Festival, currently on its second of three days, announced Saturday that performances will be paused due to severe weather passing through the Salt Lake Valley.

The announcement, which came via Instagram, reads:

ATTENTION: Performances will be paused due to severe weather.
Please follow the direction of event staff, gather your belongings, exit the venue, and take shelter. We will provide more information shortly, stay tuned to the festival app and socials for updates.
