Nathan Marion Franks is charged with 2nd degree domestic battery.
The victim was also in court Monday to ask that a no contact order put in place as the result of the incident be lifted so he could communicate with his son.
Circuit Judge John Putman said, given what had happened between father and son, he would not lift the order but allowed it to be modified so the father could communicate with the son in a controlled situation.
On September 16 just after 11 p.m. a Baxter County sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a residence along County Road 457 to respond to a report of a domestic violence incident.
The deputy found that Franks had attacked his elderly father causing serious injuries .
Franks is an inmate in the Baxter County Detention Center with his bond set at $5,000.
