Grass fire near Rising Star prompts multi-department response

EASTLAND, COUNTY (KTAB/KRBC) – A large grass fire broke out west of Rising Star Sunday afternoon.

Multiple fire departments, including the Cisco Fire Department, Rising Star, Carbon, and Cross Plains Volunteer Fire Departments, responded to the blaze on County Road 266.

The Texas A&M Forest Service Incident Viewer reports that the Feed Yard fire is roughly 70 acres.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area while crews work to contain and extinguish the fire.
