Five kilograms of cocaine seized in Baton Rouge traffic stop, 2 arrested

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Two men are behind bars after the Baton Rouge Police Department seized five kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop earlier this week.

According to police, officers pulled over a vehicle on Oct. 8 for a traffic violation. During the stop, investigators discovered and confiscated approximately five kilograms of cocaine.

The vehicle’s occupants, identified as Chad Evans and Vernon White, were arrested and booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics.

Police said White has a prior criminal history for theft, while Evans has previous arrests related to narcotics violations.
