Scarecrows dominate in inaugural season opener

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Scarecrows dominated in its 6-1 win against the Indiana Sentinels on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, Scarecrow Scott Coash found the back of the net on a powerplay goal. Although Indiana answered back six minutes later, the Scarecrows went on a 5-0 run the rest of the game.

TJ Sneath, Hugo Koch, Elijah Wilson and Jacob Gagnon all put goals on the board for Topeka, with breakout star Wilson finding the net twice. Goalie Sammy Bernard stopped 23 of 24 shots on net for his first win of the season, and Topeka’s first ever victory.

The Scarecrows play again tomorrow night in Indiana for game two at 7:30 p.m. ET.
