The Eagles got some help from their special teams with two blocked extra point attempts after Rouse touchdowns to help keep an edge.
The Raiders scored with 3:46 left in the game on a London Morgan 2-yard pass to tight end Ike Riemenschneider to get within two points, but Walker and the Eagles held the ball the rest of the game with their power run game to clinch it.
Walker scored on runs of 1 yard, 8 and 9 yards, most of which were set up by great passes by quarterback Kaleb McDougle. The Eagles’ signal caller hit Braydon Bratton for a 39-yard gain to put the offense inside the 10-yard line for Walker to finish off on the next play from 8 yards on the first drive. The score was a 1-yard plunge following a 47-yard pass from McDougle to Copeland Madray with 6:10 left in the opening frame.
The Eagles stretched their lead to 28-7 in the second quarter with some razzle-dazzle, a 42-yard touchdown on a reverse pass by receiver Braydon Westfall to Copeland Madray at the 10:15 mark. Rouse responded on the ensuing drive with a 13-yard touchdown run from Aubryn Davis, but Georgetown blocked the Raiders’ PAT attempt, the first of the two big special teams plays.
Georgetown blocked its second PAT following Morgan’s 31-yard touchdown pass to Peter Mietus with 1:33 left in the third quarter.
Georgetown (5-1, 3-0) maintains its spot at the top of District 8-5A1 and will face cross-town rival East View on Oct. 17. Rouse (2-4, 0-3) plays Killeen on Oct. 16.
