According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at approximately 1:47 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Kessler Boulevard East Drive and North College Avenue on the report of “personal injury accident.”
When officers arrived on scene, they located a red pickup truck in the 5800 block of North College Avenue with two people inside. An adult male in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene, and the second person in the truck was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.
A witness told investigators a silver car and the red truck collided at the intersection of Kessler Boulevard East Drive and North College Avenue.
After the crash, the driver of the red truck continued at a high rate of speed down College Avenue. The driver then struck two parked vehicles, crossed into the northbound lanes of the roadway, hit at least two trees and flipped the car a couple of times before it landed upright in the 5800 block of North College Avenue, which is where police later found the truck.
No additional information was released by police. The incident remains under investigation.
