OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — A suspect in the fatal shooting of Mason Caballero, 16, near Ben Lomond High School in Ogden has been identified. Police have issued a warrant for his arrest.

Ogden Police have identified the suspect as Isaias Emanuel Carranza. He is described as 6’1″, 175 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Carranza is wanted for aggravated murder. If you see Carranza or know of his whereabouts, do not approach him, police said.

On Oct. 7, 2025, at around 2:45 p.m., Ogden Police responded to a report of a shooting near 5th Street and Gramercy Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile in the area of Ben Lomond High School who had been shot and killed.

Since the incident, Major Crimes Detectives and the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force have been investigating this case. Detectives have now identified the suspect as Carranza and issued a warrant for his arrest.

safety of our residents,” a press release from Ogden Police states.

The victim’s family is offering a $1,700 reward for information leading to Carranza’s arrest.
