CHP investigating possible freeway shooting in Oakland
The CHP alerted the community of the freeway closure at 6:52 a.m. It is unclear at what time the possible shooting occurred.
No further information was immediately provided in the investigation.
Motorists were advised to expect delays in the area amid the on-scene investigation.
Friday’s incident comes after a separate East Bay freeway shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway 24 near the Caldecott Tunnel. Two vehicles were struck by gunfire in that shooting, with no reported injuries. The suspected gunman was arrested on the highway near Walnut Creek, CHP said.
