  • Next, starting Friday, Oct. 10, take part in Gentilly Fest at Pontchartrain Park. Enjoy live music from James Andrews and others, as well as arts & crafts from neighborhood vendors. Treat the kids to face-painting and pottery while catching up with community leaders.
  • Bring your appetite and love of music to the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest in Lafayette Square Park. The free 3-day festival, Oct. 10,11 and 12, presents some of the best BBQ in town along with two stages of blues, featuring Bobby Rush and others. VIP tickets are also available for an elevated experience.
  • Finally, raise your beer stein for Oktoberfest at the Deutsches Haus, starting Friday, Oct. 10 and running every weekend thru Oct. 25. Do the chicken dance while enjoying German food including cheeses and desserts, paired with over 20 German beers, wines, and schnapps.

Thomas Stewart, better known Uptown T, has been shucking oysters for almost 40 years. Read about this local legend in the Fall Restaurant Guide edition of Where Y’at Magazine, found in coffee shops, restaurants, and retail outlets. And keep your eyes peeled, this weekend, for our special October issue that previews Halloween and more fall festivals!
