Gallia County Republican Century Club Chairman Brent Boothe says they were expecting to have Ramaswamy attend last year, but “he had some other things that were going on last minute.”
However, Ramaswamy attended their annual membership dinner this year, explaining the reason for his absence in 2024.
“We committed to do this before we had this thing called a presidential election, and the good news is we won that night. We delivered victory, and now we’re on a better path as a country. Thank you for your understanding,” Ramaswamy says.
Earlier this year, Ramaswamy launched his bid for Ohio governor after now-former Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted dropped out to take a U.S. Senate appointment.
Ramaswamy is looking to succeed term-limited Governor Mike DeWine.
“I’m running to be the governor of all of Ohio. That still requires being bold at times. It requires some changes in the way we think about economic development in this state, a little bit of a shift in mentality of using all of our natural resources,” Ramaswamy says.
The Cincinnati-born biotech entrepreneur gained national attention following his bid for and exit from the republican presidential nomination last year.
Now, he’s sharing his vision with fellow Ohioans, hopeful to become the next governor of the Buckeye State.
“Now is Ohio’s turn to lead the way to power America’s comeback, to lead our country back to greatness. That is our destination,” Ramaswamy says.
