The arrest comes after Auburn police received a report that involved forged checks.

The victim reported to police that multiple checks were mailed to the intended recipients from a location in Auburn between March and July 2023, but while in transit, the checks were stolen, altered, and deposited into bank accounts associated with multiple unknown suspects.

The incident led to a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving fraudulent checks and mail theft, which was presented to a Lee County Grand Jury, according to Auburn police.

Holloway was located by the Opelika Police Department on Thursday and taken into custody.

She was then transported to the Auburn Police Department and subsequently moved to the Lee County Jail and held on a $9,500 bond.
