Three hospitalized with 'major injuries' after San Jose two-car crash
(KRON) — Three people sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening, said the San Jose Department.

The victims have been taken to local hospitals where two individuals are listed in critical condition, according to police.

SJPD said the incident happened at 5:35 p.m. in the area of Rancho Drive and Monterey Road.

The cause of the collision has not been determined. It is not yet clear if drugs or alcohol were factors.

Police said Monterey Road is shut down in both directions from Capitol Expressway to Fehren Drive. The road closures will remain for the next several hours with no clear time of reopening.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
