Pulaski Day Celebration to Bring Polish Heritage, Music, and Food to Downtown Bloomington This Weekend

Written from announcement

Bloomington, Ind. — Kirkwood Avenue will come alive with music, food, and community spirit this Saturday, October 11, as Bloomington celebrates General Casimir Pulaski Memorial Day and Polish American Heritage Month.

Sponsored

The public event runs from 3 to 8 p.m. on the 500 block of East Kirkwood Avenue, between Indiana Avenue and Dunn Street. Distinguished guests — including Indiana Senator Shelli Yoder and Bloomington Deputy Mayor Gretchen Knapp — will deliver proclamations at 4 p.m., honoring Pulaski, the Polish-born hero of the American Revolution, and recognizing the contributions of Polish Americans to Indiana and the nation.

Organized by Alexander Lee Myśliwiec and Michael Fox, the family-friendly event will feature:

The Polish Eagle’s Nest Beer Garden, sponsored by Lennie’s.

Authentic Polish cuisine from the Pierogi Place food truck.

Sponsored

Locally roasted coffee from Needmore Coffee Roasters.

Event Production Services, Master of Ceremonies, and Polka Music DJ’d by Alexander Lee Mysliwiec and Sleep In The Car Music & Productions.

Restrooms will be available inside Lennie’s restaurant (514 E. Kirkwood Ave.). Admission is free, and everyone is welcome — whether Polish or just “Polish for a day.”

Organizers say the celebration is “all about family and friends,” inviting the Bloomington community to enjoy an afternoon of culture, food, and fellowship in honor of Polish American Heritage Month.
