Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was in attendance for the mayor’s announcement along with other supporters.
Arceneaux says being the mayor and having so much support brings him so much joy.
“I’m in this for the long haul. I’ve enjoyed being the mayor. It’s an honor to be the mayor. I want to continue, and I want to let people know really early on that I am intending to run again. As far as I’m concerned, the race starts today,” says Arceneaux.
Arceneaux says the accomplishments of his administration during his time as mayor have built a bond and trust with the city.
“We think we have a record of accomplishment. We think we have built the trust of the people in their government. We have managed the finances conservatively. We’ve managed to keep an eight percent reserve. Because of all that, we think we’re on the right path, and we want to continue on that path for the next four years,” says Arceneaux.
Arceneaux has many supporters, and they feel he’s the best choice for the city of Shreveport.
“Tom has got to be our next mayor. He is so even-handed and focused on the end result,” says Linda Biernacki.
